State of Issue X in Arizona, Due December 2:
Our goal in this assignment is to assess a public problem or challenge. In either a 4-5 page essay or a 2-3 minute video, explain in plain language why the challenge you selected is or should be understood and addressed as a public issue. Why should public resources be used to make and implement a solution to this challenge. Offer details that unpack the harm occurring or that will occur if we fail to address the issue you selected. Make those details concrete. For example, if you were talking about the state of Education in Arizona, you might report in your assessment that XX% of K-12 children report feeling hungry 3 or more times per week. Or, if you want to focus on the State of Household Financial Health in Arizona, you might point out that XX% of Arizona adults used some form of predatory lending service in the last 12 months. Finally, identify a non-government organization that is addressing the issue. Tell us who they are and how they are addressing the problem. Share information about their strategy – are they mobilizing voters, are they buying ads on news programs, are they penning op-eds to change public opinion, are they lobbying policy makers? Tell us if they inspire you, what your assessment is of their likelihood of success, and whether you would want to join them in the cause, or if you feel like “they got this” and your super powers are needed elsewhere.

How should you organize your 4-5 page essay or 2-3 minute video?
You might do something like this:
Page 1-2: Use this space to explain in plain language why the challenge you selected is or should be understood and addressed as a public issue. Also explain why public resources should be used to make and implement a solution to this challenge. Offer details that unpack the harm occurring or that will occur if we fail to address the issue you selected.
Page 3-4: Use this space to identify a non-government organization that is addressing the issue. You can make reference to a government, but make the non-government organization or interest group the center of attention in your analysis. Tell us who they are and how they are addressing the problem. Share information about their strategy – are they mobilizing voters, are they buying ads on news programs, are they penning op-eds to change public opinion, are they lobbying policy makers?
Page 4-5: Use this space to make things a bit more personal. Tell us why you are passionate about the issue. Does the non-government organization that you are featuring in your report inspire you? What is your assessment of their likelihood of success. Would want join them in the cause? Why or why not?
Whatever issue you decide to focus on for your performance, you might consider searching what ordinary people think on the matter. Here are some additional resources on public opinion surveys that may provide detailed, concrete information about policy attitudes.
1. A survey of Arizona voters that yours truly completed recently can be found here: https://clapr.asu.edu/Midterm2022
2. Here is another set of surveys that gives insights into how Black, Native American, AAPI, and Latino voters thought about issues this past election cycle. And, bonus, they have the option to drill down to specific states for some, but not all of these different groups: https://2022electionpoll.us/Links to an external site.
3. Here is one source that looks specifically at AAPI, and even gives menu options divided by issue areas, and includes ready-to-use charts that are amazing and high quality. One other strength is that they even summarize academic research into really easy-to-digest statements: https://aapidata.comLinks to an external site.
4. Here is another polling firm that has loads and loads of data on a bunch of different issues. They may also include some data on specific states, but I know for sure they ask about lots of different public policy issues. www.yougov.comLinks to an external site.
5. Another data source that covers climate change specifically is here: https://climatecommunication.yale.eduLinks to an external site.
6. There is of course, gallup, and here is the list of returns from what you get when you do a search of “arizona” from Gallup website: https://www.gallup.com/Search/Default.aspx?q=arizonaLinks to an external site.
7. You could do the same kind of search at Pew Research, NORC, and other companies know for surveying and public opinion.

These should be plenty to get you started

CYB 200 Project Three Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
One of the three focus projects for this course is the creation of a technical brief based on research you’ve conducted. The audience for this brief is the
security/IT director for a fictional organization at which you are employed for the purposes of this assignment. This technical brief will serve as the basis for a
proactive adversarial detection plan that your director will be creating. The final product represents an authentic demonstration of competency because, as a
security analyst, you will need to be able to develop skills that employ a variety of methods and tools necessary to detect, characterize, and counter cyber threat
actors. Your work will contribute to larger team projects across your organization. This project will also help position you to cultivate an important mind-set:
thinking responsibly, proactively, and in terms of what threat actors would do to attack organizational assets.
The project incorporates one milestone, which will be submitted in Module Five. The project will be submitted in Module Seven.
In this assignment, you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course competency:
 CYB-200-02: Develop reliable, ethical methods to detect, characterize, and counter cyber threat actors
Scenario
In a course announcement, your instructor will provide you with some scenarios for you to choose from. You will situate yourself as the security analyst in one of
the provided scenarios, creating a technical brief that explains to the security/IT director how the situation informs the larger proactive adversarial detection
plan that he or she is writing for the organization. You do not require specific technical information from the system at hand, as the results or determinations are
supplied for you within the scenario. Rather, you should address each critical element in the Project Three prompt, speaking broadly to what your best-practice
tactics or methods would be, based on your research from the decision aid you completed as the milestone for this project. The Conclusion section of this
activity requires you to extrapolate on all the research you have done for the decision aid.
Prompt
In your technical brief, you must address the critical elements listed below. The codes shown in brackets indicate the course competency to which each critical
element is aligned.
I. Introduction
A. Identify your threat actors and characterize their motivations or desired outcomes. Use research from the Project Three resource guide or
decision aid to support your response. For example, is the threat actor gathering information for financial gain? [CYB-200-02]
1
II. Analysis
A. Describe best practices or methods for detecting the threat actors from the scenario. Use research from the Project Three resource guide or
decision aid to support your response. [CYB-200-02]
B. Describe ethical and legal factors that should be considered and their significance in terms of the company for which you are employed in the
scenario. Use research from the Project Three resource guide or decision aid to support your response. [CYB-200-02]
C. Describe at least one tactic or method that is important in responding to and countering this threat actor. Use research from the Project Three
resource guide or decision aid to support your response. [CYB-200-02]
D. Describe at least one tactic or method that would be employed to reduce the likelihood of the same situation happening again. Use research
from the Project Three resource guide or decision aid to support your response. [CYB-200-02]
III. Conclusion
A. Explain the potential ramifications of the tactics or methods you have suggested. Use research from the resource guide or decision aid to
support your response. [CYB-200-02]

* I am attaching the rough draft. I just need a final draft by Saturday.

Parameters and guidelines for the term paper are as follows:
Select a nonprofit organization for in-depth analysis. Please do not use material you have written from a previous course – this will likely increase your similarity score, which could become a plagiarism issue, as discussed below. Please carefully review the section below on Turnitin & Plagiarism to avoid receiving a 0 grade for similarity.
The term paper should be at least 1,500 words. Please keep in mind that the word count requirements point out the minimum amount of effort that should be put into the paper. Word count isn’t everything because quality of writing and research matters as well, but it is an indication of the quantity of effort put into the assignment. Note that word count does not include title, abstract, or reference pages. Not following this requirement will significantly impact the grade.
You should support your paper with at least 3 scholarly peer-reviewed references in addition to your eText for a minimum of 4 total references. Be sure to go to: https://berkeleycollege.libguides.com/scholarlysources Links to an external site.to help you find references.
Use scholarly peer-reviewed references rather than websites. Scholarly references are generally more credible and make a more persuasive argument. Non-academic websites are not typically recommended for academic writing. While most of the information generally is correct, it is not always reliable because anyone can change the content, bias is often present, and it is not peer-reviewed. For example, it’s best not to use news websites, Wikipedia, investopedia.com, about.com, smallbusiness.chron.com, huffingtonpost.com, ehow.com, forbes.com, cnn.com, online encyclopedias, or similar non-academic websites. Articles in these types of websites are written by reporters or individuals who may or may not be experts in the field, and consequently may have incorrect or biased information. Instead, it adds much more credibility to use the class eText, other related textbooks, and peer-reviewed articles, i.e. scholars have analyzed and evaluated the content for accuracy, quality, and reliability. Be sure to use the university library to help you find these types of scholarly references. The library has a setting in database searches that allow you to search for peer-reviewed articles only.
It is acceptable to use a company website for research, say for example if you are researching Salvation Army, it’s ok to use www.salavationarmy.org to describe their mission, strategy, volunteerism, funding, etc.
The Term Paper should be well organized and encompass the above subject and content guidelines, and an electronic copy of the project should be submitted via Turnitin.
The Term Paper structure should be as follows:
Background and Context: Discuss type of industry, products/services, and how organizational vision and strategies have influenced their history.
Analysis: Review your eText and focus on 2-3 chapters that really interest you in regard to this organization, e.g. governance, executive leadership, developing strategy, managing staff and volunteers, marketing and communications, lobbying, fundraising, etc. Describe and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of your organization in relation to these topics. Be sure to utilize key nonprofit terms and principles learned in class and how they relate to the organization.
Recommendations: Your recommendations for the next 1-2 years of the organization. How can they capitalize on their strengths and how can they improve in their weaknesses? Ensure that these align with the organization’s vision and values.

Review Case Study 9.2 in Chapter 9 of your textbook entitled, Kassy’s Story.
Answer the four case questions in your textbook (and listed below). Please type this in Word and upload to the dropbox. The instructions state to be as specific as possible in your responses and to provide concrete suggestions/examples in your answers. There is no specific requirement with respect to “length of answers”; however to fully answer these case questions you must provide sufficient detail and explanations (i.e., one or two sentences is most likely insufficient).
In the chapter, Bill George’s approach to authentic leadership suggests that truly authentic leaders exhibit passion, strong values, connectedness, consistency, and compassion. In what way has Gutierrez shown these qualities? Which characteristics are most representative of Gutierrez? Discuss.
The Model of Authentic Leadership (Figure 9.2) posits that critical life events shape an individual’s development as an authentic leader. In what way do you think this has been true for Gutierrez?
When leaders tell their life stories, they gain greater self-knowledge and a clearer picture of who they are and their role. Do you think telling her story has been helpful to Gutierrez and the school community? If you were Gutierrez, would you have shared your story so openly? What are the implications for a leader when sharing personal stories with the public? Discuss.
As illustrated in Figure 9.2, authentic leaders use their internal moral perspective to guide their behavior and are motivated by higher-order values such as justice and community. Describe Gutierrez’s moral perspective and the impact it has on her behavior as a leader. How does her moral perspective impact how she is viewed by others?
