As you work through the lessons each week, you will benefit from taking notes. These notes will help you see what’s important in the class materials, as well as what’s important to you.
Please read the Discussion Board Rubric and Discussion Board Example documents in Module 1 (these are also pinned to the Discussion Board).
Discuss one of the following:
In the readings, Essig roots ideas about love in history and literature. Briefly discuss a contemporary example -from pop culture, the media, politics, etc.- which expresses ideas about love (or, hate). What might your example say about contemporary perspectives on love (or, hate)?
With the chapters from Essig in mind, discuss an early message you received about love or hate. What was the source? How did the message characterize the nature of love/hate? What was implied about the value of love/hate (for example, what expressions of love/hate were you taught were ideal, to strive for, to be proud of?)
